Bees, nuts and medicinal plants bring many benefits in Bolivia’s Chiquitano dry forest | International Institute for Environment and Development

During a Forest and Farm Facility delegation visit to the Chiquitano dry forest in Bolivia, unexpected rain was experienced in the world's largest tropical dry forest, a rare transition zone. The FFF has invested in supporting Indigenous and peasant organizations in the area, including a women-led beekeeping enterprise focused on ecological and cultural resilience. The enterprise utilizes native stingless bees and local plants to create value-added products like artisanal cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, partnering with universities and laboratories to investigate the healing properties of local plants and advocate for their protection under local laws. Adapicruz is also developing a commercial entity to address a bottleneck in climate solutions.
