The Net Zero Engagement Initiative (NZEI) in 2025 successfully engaged with 113 investor organizations and 139 companies across 26 countries and 14 sectors to drive decarbonization and manage climate risks. Two-thirds of focus companies made progress against NZEI's core engagement objectives, demonstrating the initiative's ability to drive meaningful outcomes in climate ambition, targets, disclosures, decarbonization strategies, and capital allocation. NZEI complements Climate Action 100+ by focusing on large corporate emitters in high-emitting sectors and has evolved to incorporate private company engagement, strengthening investor collaboration. Additionally, Drax has committed to phasing out Canadian wood pellets by 2027 to improve supply chain sustainability, while Veolia worked with investors to strengthen its climate action plan and achieve approval by the Science Based Targets initiative and an "Advanced" rating by Moody's.
