The tiny sensor that could extend EV driving range, and provide a smoother ride

Texas Instruments has developed the TMCS2100-Q1 sensor, which enhances electric vehicle performance by measuring magnetic fields in both horizontal and vertical directions, providing 20-times more accurate measurements than single-axis sensors. This increased precision improves EV powertrain torque control loop, maximizing efficiency and power delivery. The sensor enables smaller, more power-dense traction inverter designs, leading to more efficient, longer-range, and smoother driving electric vehicles.
