Tesla's $10.1 billion solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Texas, known as Project Crystal Sun, has been approved by the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. The project aims to create 9,712 permanent full-time jobs and 1,147 peak construction jobs, focusing on vertically integrated solar cell and module production with a significant investment in manufacturing equipment. This aligns with Tesla's goal of establishing a large domestic solar supply chain capacity and could contribute $107 billion to Texas GDP over a 38-year horizon.
