Zenith Energy is developing a large wind, solar, and battery hybrid project for the Kalgoorlie Super Pit gold mine in Australia, aiming to deliver around 70% renewable energy and reduce reliance on diesel. The system will include 256 MW of wind capacity, 110 MW of solar capacity, and 138 MW and 300 MWh of battery storage, showcasing the feasibility of high-renewable energy systems in demanding conditions. This project, along with the Eastern Goldfields power project and Fortescue's plans in the Pilbara region, highlights the potential for commercially viable and reliable high-renewable energy systems in remote locations, emphasizing the transition to clean energy solutions for electricity supplies.
