Google and Cypress Creek have commenced construction on the Steel River Energy Center in Arkansas, the largest solar-plus-storage project in the United States, featuring a capacity of 2.5 GWdc of solar power and 2.9 GWh of battery storage. This initiative is vital for supporting Arkansas’s industrial growth and meeting the increasing demand for clean energy. Notably, the project will utilize 100% U.S.-made components and includes a $3 million commitment from Cypress Creek for community initiatives in Mississippi County, reinforcing local sustainable energy infrastructure.

In the first quarter of 2026, solar and battery storage accounted for 91% of new electricity-generating capacity, contributing to over 1.4 million jobs in the clean energy sector nationwide.

Meanwhile, in the UAE, Masdar has secured financial backing for a $6.1 billion gigascale renewable energy project, comprising a 5.2 GW solar installation and a 19 GWh battery system capable of delivering 1 GW of continuous clean power.
