California’s Cap-and-Invest program has generated $36.2 billion for climate initiatives since its inception in 2013, with $15.5 billion already deployed across 122 programs, 76% of which specifically target disadvantaged communities. The program has successfully reduced emissions by 130.5 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent and is associated with $44.4 billion in economic benefits linked to these reductions.

In Indonesia, the government has launched a 100 GW solar power initiative, which includes 80 GW for decentralized systems in rural areas and 20 GW for centralized solar solutions. China’s 15th Five-Year Plan for Renewable Energy Development aims for a total of 3,500 GW of installed renewable capacity by 2030, including a target of at least 370 GW from wind and solar sources, alongside goals for non-power applications and supply security.

Australia is encouraged to expedite its clean electricity transition by adopting lessons from Denmark’s experience, specifically in community engagement, streamlined permitting processes, and fostering local manufacturing capacity.
