Fortescue is advancing its operations in Australia with the introduction of the tallest wind turbines, standing at 188 meters, at its inaugural wind farm in Pilbara. These turbines, equipped with 89-meter long blades and utilizing Nabrawind’s innovative “self lifting” tower technology, are en route to the site. Fortescue aims to transition to a fully electric operation by early 2028, significantly enhancing sustainability in the mining sector.

In Queensland, a new record was set with solar power contributing 38.2% of electricity consumption on a winter Sunday, alongside a maximum renewable energy share reaching just under 76%. This achievement underscores the state’s commitment to renewable energy, despite some curtailment challenges.

Coles and Evie Networks are collaborating to install electric vehicle charging stations at up to 30 locations across Australia over the next two years, with the first site launched in Melbourne. This initiative aims to enhance EV infrastructure, making charging more accessible for customers.

Additionally, Altus Power has acquired five community solar projects in Virginia, totaling 32 MW, which will provide clean energy to approximately 5,000 homes through a shared solar program.
