Energy Dome and Google are collaborating to develop a 23 MW/200 MWh carbon battery energy storage system in County Offaly, Ireland, which is expected to be fully operational by 2028. This project aims to establish a benchmark for carbon battery initiatives worldwide, leveraging innovative carbon compression technology that enables long-duration energy storage without reliance on lithium or other minerals, underscoring its environmental sustainability.

In Brazil, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, in partnership with the City of Recife, the Federal Government, and corporations including Mars Inc., Nestlé, PepsiCo, and Unilever, is set to unlock up to R$300 million to enhance waste management systems. This initiative aims to create approximately 9,300 jobs and improve conditions for waste pickers by 2030, contributing to systemic change in urban waste management and recycling.

Australia is experiencing a significant shift in solar energy adoption, with initiatives aimed at installing over 2 million home batteries by 2030, which is crucial for reducing reliance on gas and promoting decentralized energy sources. Concurrently, Europe is addressing agricultural challenges exacerbated by heatwaves, with legislative actions underway to regulate gene editing and methane emissions, essential for enhancing food resilience as global climate strategy discussions gain momentum.
