French and African leaders have announced commitments exceeding $11 billion in renewable energy investments across Africa, focusing on projects such as sustainable aviation fuel, hydropower, solar, wind, and clean cooking initiatives. This collaboration involves significant participants, including TotalEnergies, EDF, Kenya Airways, and Rubis Energy, reflecting a concerted effort to enhance electricity access and promote sustainable development in the face of global competition within Africa’s emerging green economy.

In China, Datang Energy is spearheading the development of a renewable energy complex in Inner Mongolia, featuring a total capacity of 14.64 GW, which includes 8 GW of solar, 4 GW of wind, and 2.64 GW of coal-fired power. This project is scheduled for phased development from 2026 to 2030, with the first capacity expected to be connected to the grid in 2027.

Germany is investing €1 billion over the next four years to enhance electric truck charging infrastructure, aiming for 80% of this infrastructure to utilize clean electricity by 2030.
