Commonwealth Fusion Systems, the first developer of nuclear fusion technology, has applied to connect its planned 400-megawatt nuclear fusion power plant to the PJM Interconnection grid in Virginia. This facility features a sodium-cooled fast reactor and an integrated molten salt energy storage system, marking a significant advancement in nuclear technology as part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program.
