The MTerra solar project in the Philippines is progressing towards becoming the world’s largest solar-battery hybrid project, with a planned capacity of 3.5 GW of solar energy and 4.5 GWh of battery storage. The first phase, which includes 2.5 GW of solar capacity and 3.3 MWh of battery storage, is expected to be completed later this year, with phase two already underway to further increase capacity. The project plans to export 85 MW of power to the local grid, emphasizing the potential for large-scale renewable energy solutions in the region.
