In Africa, targeted investments in efficient appliances have resulted in a 94% increase in average incomes for women, highlighting their significance in economic development and energy transition. However, these investments can only deliver 20% of the energy savings required to double global efficiency by 2030, underscoring the need for broader strategies in energy management.
India’s renewable energy initiative, the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, aims to install rooftop solar panels on 1 crore residential buildings, contributing to a long-term transition toward reliable and efficient energy sources. Meanwhile, Australia’s Supernode battery project has commenced operations, with plans to expand to 780 MW and 3,074 MWh of capacity, exemplifying the importance of large-scale energy storage in facilitating the global shift toward sustainable energy solutions. These developments collectively illustrate significant progress towards climate resilience and economic growth.
