In Spain, ACCIONA Energía’s 50 MW Logrosan biomass plant is now operational and supplying renewable energy. The plant is projected to produce 380 GWh of electricity annually while avoiding over 187,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. It has created over 400 construction jobs and will provide 30 permanent positions, alongside approximately 200 roles focused on land management and wildfire prevention, significantly benefiting the local economy.
Meanwhile, Sembcorp Industries has enhanced its renewable energy footprint by acquiring a 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan, India. This acquisition increases Sembcorp’s total capacity in India to over 7.6 GW and contributes to a global capacity of 20.2 GW. These initiatives underscore the companies’ commitments to sustainable energy development, each playing a distinct role in the broader climate action landscape.
